Getting Ready to Go

It is week out before we set sail up the east coast of Australia and still lots of things to do! The rain has not helped as we had planned to pull the boat last week to clean and paint. Then of course to do the final pack. Where we are up to now is that the boat will come out next week and due to the tides we will have to pack Friday night in preparation for sailing on Saturday 3rd May '08.
So what do you pack for a seven month trip on a boat?
We will be leaving Sydney (Botany Bay) in coolish weather and hope to get to Queensland as soon as possible for most of the trip we will be hopefully in for a hotter climate. Our end destination will be Lizard Island just off Cook Town. You can see how far we are going by going to Trip Journal. Then it will be the return trip back to Sydney by the beginning of December '08.
Will let you know what we end up packing!

Hi Jo,
So glad you have a blog so we can keep track of your travels.

My parents are in France at the moment and (embarassingly) blogging their journey. I think's it the new-age way to humiliate your children! You'll see what I mean if you read about my Dad's stomach troubles in Egypt and his attempts to chat up the chick in the bakery in Paris!!! LOL http://caspianfats.wordpress.com/

Look forward to hearing more and maybe even seeing you in Coffs? I have subscribed to your RSS feed.

Warm regards,
Alex
